I have no problems with Polly but I find Gibber an irritation. I think it implausible that Roger would be allowed to have a monkey as a pet, annoying that the idea of getting a monkey is treated so casually instead of being properly considered, and unfair to Gibber that once he's been brought into the story he's immediately sent off to the zoo. If I'd been Gibber I'd have set fire to the Wild Cat deliberately in revenge.
