Mike, I saw the programme, and that's not what she said. There was nothing about 'not moving on'. If Linda Smith had said that, then it would be a serious point, and I would agree with it.

As to the general point about adults reading children's literature, including AR, obviously this is a delicate subject to discuss on Tarboard of all places, but let me get myself off the hook by commenting on adult AR-readers I have encountered off-board during the last 15 years. I have, on occasion, seen clear signs of 'regression'. This is most clearly shown in an inability to face up to adult problems and to 'handle conflict'.
