I have always enjoyed this image of Roger allowing the description to flow on uninterupted, and I've been quietly amused at AR's uplifting of the rhythm of wrestling words to the status of poetry. But it was not until I read your extract that I "got it" that AR was also making a comment about Roger's level of enjoyment of great poetry - and perhaps AR's and ours as well!
