Speaking as somebody who had a four-years-older brother (roughly the Roger-to-John spread), I'd say the eldest Walker actually treats his brother with kid gloves. All those books, and not a single time does John wallop Roger or steal his dessert or put ants in his sleeping bag.
As a child, I would have swapped him with my brother in an instant!
