Thanks to Google I have found the answer my own question. There is one Leyland steam lawnmower survivor, which is at the University of Reading. More on this delightful subject here. Steam lawnmowers were made obsolete by the new generation of petrol driven mowers manufactured amongst others by Ransomes of Ipswich.
