There's another copy for sale at abebooks.com for 7-800 dollars. The bookseller says the pub. date is 1908, and includes the following explanation:
Description: One of ""The Children's Encyclopedia Story-Books"", given away free with the ""Children's Encyclopedia"" or sold separately for one penny. Orig pict wraps soiled and a little worn at edges, paper a bit browned, G/VG. 24pp plus covers, short fantasy story, illustrated by Thomas Maybank.
