Not sure if this is a prolonged visit yet. It will be Coots in the North this August. The North West Coast of Scotland around Oban.

The Weather proved me right last year when the Pull Beck flooded under heavy rain. There were fish in the Beck and the Beck looked like its old self in the AR drawings.

The Secretary of the Pattinson Collection who also worked at the WSM told me that they were in agreement on the Girls Father owning "Esperance". The dates are right and the Scotts were after SA had been written.

She also gave me the details on "Daffodil" and how it was used by the Crossleys. That is the Beckfoot Motor Launch out of the way and linked to the Crossleys as well.

Bearing in mind one of your earlier postings. I would love to find out what the girls' father did when he found out about them sinking the Houseboat!!!!

"White Elephant" was an appropriate name for the houseboat as it was an expensive luxury. I wonder if Mr Crossley did keep his hunting trophies on board as AR describes. He is supposed to have looked in through the windows only after the Scotts had purchased it. If he did see the things he described then he must have had a look inside uninvited earlier.
