I asked the question because a person jumped into Tarboard, used four exclamation marks (would not one be enough?) and then proceeded to blame TARS for something. Well, no change there, then.

Fact: Putting a post on Tarboard is not the same as contacting TARS. This is not a TARS website.

Fact: The Dog's Home does not belong to TARS. It belongs to the Forestry Commission. Complaints should be directed to them. TARS does occasionally get permission to repair the building, but TARS cannot just roll up and tamper with it - permission has to be obtained. The TARS notice that was, apparently, formerly fixed to the door was not, in my opinion, a good idea (some of us will recall the ill-fated TARS plaque on the Old Man summit).

Fact: the Dog's Home will be visited (with permission) by many Tars as part of the Coniston IAGM weekend shortly. Its condition can be ascertained then. I note that Mr Hobbs has waited 9 months before complaining.
