Hi,

I agree with others too. As a child I read them in the order as Lyn tells, and enjoyed all, with an impression Silver Lake includes a severe aspect somewhat. As I grew up I came to appreciate the quality of the Silver Lake. Little Town on the Prairie and These Happy Golden Years are also fine, with anticipations for the future. Farmer Boy is in good contrast with other stories of Laura. Every volume is so fine and enjoyable, and important for my understanding of the U.S, an aspect of their history: I cannot imagine my childhood (or my lifetime reading experience) without this series.
Happy reading,

Sayoko
