There's been some mention of hunting and Nancy in other threads. I think it is important to get clear exactly what was going on in Swallowdale. This is NOT fox-hunting, but a test of endurance and speed of the 'hounds'. Nancy and Peggy were enthusiastic because they were 'locals'. There is no 'class' connotation in hound trailing - far from it. To me, the 'trailing' episode in SD is charming, exciting, and has always been a favourite. For further info:
