Note that this is Lanehead, not "Pull Wood House". Note particularly this picture showing the East elevation of the house. There is a newer extension running East-West which is conspicuous by the lighter tiles on the roof. Now in your minds eye remove the extension. What have you got? A building with the North end set back to the West.

What is a consistent feature of all of AR's drawings of Beckfoot? A house with a setback to the right!

Note: none of my posts about Lanehead are intended in any way to detract from Iain's considerable achievement in discovering the links between the Crossleys and the Blacketts.
