In Chapter XXII of P&M, the Amazons openly leave Beckfoot in "comfortables"' shirt, shorts and red caps. Crossing the lawn openly so that the D's are worried that the GA could see them. However it seems the GA has given permission, Nancy says that she was standing at the window so she couldn't answer Dick's duck call, presumably the GA was watching them.
