Following the posting of a picture the 1939 Campbell speedboat by Ian EN as a reply to another thread, I wonder what AR thought about these record breaking activities.
It is known that two of AR's pet Lake District hates were speedboats and caravan sites.
I wonder how, if at all, he reconciled his hate with the hero worship that surrounded Sir Malcolm Campbell.
In 1939 he was in East Anglia and missed the record setting run by Sir Malcolm. After the war Donald Campbell took up the challenge with runs in 1955 on Ullswater, I think, and also in the mid 1960's on Coniston.

By slight coincidence both Donald Campbell and AR died in 1967.
