Peter - perhaps I'm reading the wrong newspapers, but on average I read such remarks (not always as blatant but that's the sub-text) once or twice a week. It's usually part of complaints about the standard or our education system or our radio and television, where use of so-called Americanisms is 'proof' of dumbing down (I think they are too but it has nothing to do with American English or AR!)
