I will answer your points in order of their importance:

Would you desire for a pint or two be satisfied by Wickwars IKB ale to celebrate his 200th anniversery?

IKB is the greatest Englishman that ever lived. I will happily down a barrel of his ale to celebrate his 200 anniversary.

I think the word subscribe could be replaced by join... Most Yahoo groups have a moderated membership to avoid those who would wish to hawk miracle medicines.

I have no objection to 'subscribing' or 'joining' (on the Internet both are synonomous) any service which allows me to post material. Indeed for me, Tarboard improved when Ian E-N introduced the requirement of having to subscribe before one could post. The pain is in having to subscribe before one can view. I tried using Yahoo Groups, but it was all to much for my little brain.

In comparison using Blogger or hosting material on my own WWW pages is a doddle.
