Hello Donald, I think all the quotes are from one poem; "Sohrab and Rustum" by Matthew Arnold. Maybe Katharine Hull and Pamela Whitlock had to memorize it at school. It was the source for Peran-Wisa and Oxus and lots of other names in the book. (Maybe even Cloud farm?) -Jenna
