In the FAQ 'What is football?', a question of a version of WH, in which John is glad that it isn't the start of the Winter term that they will miss as he would be worried about not getting into 'the (football eleven' is asked.
I have just checked the Red Fox paperback and the 1999 Cape reprint and both have 'fifteen'.
Is there any evidence for the 'eleven'? This might (and I'm sure somebody will have done the research) help narrow down possible schools for John.
