In the February postscript to BS “What Happened to the Fish” the Death and Glories go aboard their “ship” on Saturday morning after school the night before. When the unnamed fisherman of the Cachalot offers to take them to the Roaring Donkey ceremony, Bill says that the D’s won’t be back till Easter. Tom is around, but is out when they stop at Dr Dudgeons. So Tom does seem to be a day pupil, not a boarder.
