I've eaten brawn many times, and you can still get it in some delicatessens. It's like a very coarse pate but with gelatine around the edges (like in a pork pie). It's served in slices (like pemmican). Pretty tasty and cheap, probably because it's made from all the unwanted bits and pieces.
