Well, that told me! I'll keep my enthusiasms to myself in future.

It's very difficult entering a world of people who know each other well. Perhaps newbies need special care? Otherwise we might feel shut out and that this forum is not for us. Just a thought. (Cringes and puts head back under wing).

Re local sheep - if you're visiting the Lakes - find a Mill Shop and buy a Herdwick wool tie (or whatever). Their fleece is a very distinctive colour (grey) but it's a nice reminder. As far as I know they don't roast too well though!

Meanwhile we have a family of Jays in the garden. Mum, Dad and two new ones. As you know they are so shy that it's impossible to see them usually so we are blessed. It's a hoot watching them eat peanuts. They are big birds with big strong beaks but they pick up a nut, fly to a dead-tree perch nearby, hold the nut in one foot and delicately nibble. We could watch for hours.

Enough, Joe. Have a peaceful day all - Joe
