Joe, in all due respect; it seems to me (for my two cents worth) that WE ALL are doing what you suggest in our own miniscule way. We are introducing Mr. Ransome's books to children and other folks with varied success. We individually encourage our children to be adventurous and independent ---- in other words we are DOING what you are suggesting!
There are quite a few organized activities for kids and adults I have noted throuth the various TARS publications. Mostly, the important thing is that everyone on this forum is very enthusiastic about the ideals of Mr. Ransome and is proslytising in their own style. Sometimes we are successful and sometimes we are not - that only means we continue!

PS - Kansas just passed a law that all children have to have special seats and belting in cars. They are still neglecting the "nut that holds the steering wheel". Our current trends are to "super safety" which tends to stifle adventure and creativity - this has been extensivly discussed on this forum. Rattletrap would NEVER be allowed on the road now!
