Went many miles in that. We knew no better.
However I do not Pooh Pooh modern safety equipment there where many deaths and horrible injuries in cars in those days.
If our children and Grandchildren mean something to us then we would be stupid not to use what is available to us today.
All the Children in ARs books where extremely sensible at times a little unbelievable so. So you could be sure they would have used all available safety equipment today. Susan would have made sure of it.
