I assume the S&A cruise is on Coniston ? I took the steamer from Lakeside to Bowness on Windermere about eighteen months ago and that felt very S&A to me - OK, looking at things from the native steamer, rather than from a sailing dinghy, but much of the lakeshore probably hadn't altered much from AR's day and when passing the Windermere-version of Wild Cat Island and Cormorant Island the barriers between AR's lake and the real lake tended to dissolve in my mind.
