It's worth at least another read. I've learned to try again books I didn't like at first reading as often my perspective has changed.
Sadly that applies in reverse occasionally - books I loved as a child I can find trite, although I find TV programmes are much worse.
Anyone remember The Man from U.N.C.L.E. or The Avengers or Get Smart? David McCallum and Diana Rigg are the only good things about the first two although Get Smart has stood the test of time rather better, probably because it was tongue in cheek right from the beginning.
