I'm really not trying to start up an argument as to whether AR was or was not consciously acting for the FO, or MI6, or whatever while he was in Russia or even afterwards. What I want to know is whether his real history has ever been fictionalized for a spy novel? It seems like fertile ground for a great story, with his name and identity changed to protect the "innocent."
. . . and no, in case the thought crosses anyone's mind, I'm not planning to write one myself.
