Were there real Blackett parents?

Does anyone know if there were real life models for the Blackett parents? The wonderful Mrs Blackett being bullied by the GA seems to ring very true. And the mysterious Bob Blackett who died? Was he a friend of AR's as he was Captain Flint's? And one more thing before I shut up, which mountain is Kanchenjunga? I want to climb it.
