Back in 1996, I attended a party in a New York apartment where the authors of "Lobscouse and Spotted Dog" were present and they demonstrated making the "fresh from the cow" syllabub with large plastic pop bottles with nipples instead of a fresh cow. It tasted fine warm.
Unfortunately Cookie (Anne Grossman) passed away a couple of years ago, she was a very pleasant lady and her husband is a lot of fun too.
