Any film adaptation will always be accused of destroyig the oroiginal in some way. There are some good films ofARs work , they do aid enjoymentof the books but none so far has been an improvement over the books, if AR had been a terrible writer that would of course be possible!
One way around this problem, whih would make any film maker a "benefactor to humanity" in Myles North's words, would be to film an as-yet unwritten AR story. Tht could only be an improvement on the original. I suggest "Coots in the North" which could be a squel to theexistingcoot films, and a real BBC period drama epic [they are so good at those] would be The River Comes First; I understand the entire plot exists in sketchform. This story would be a tresure to us AR enthusiasts. I don't particularly care about what the big bad film land people think, they can live without AR's material.
