Rob, I think you may find that some characters died in OPRT translated/retold by AR. The Brothers Grimm never had any problems in this area either.
What about all the fish killed by the S's in SA & SD, let alone the grasshoppers in ML? At least they were all eaten and not killed for pleasure.
If the S's were killed early in SA - would it have been a short story?
I now feel in a sufficiently whimsical mood to be able go to The Great British Beer Festival at Earls Court.
