I recall that Bertie Wooster had "never been further East than Frinton"!

I grew up in downmarket Clacton, and used to cycle past the Frinton Gates en route to the Walton and Frinton Yacht Club, which is where Nancy and Peggy got to when they rowed up the creek.

There is in fact a second route out of Frinton, via a somewhat iffy single track bridge over the railway.

On the whole, I support the Frintonians in their bid to remain a little different. I wonder if they will ban the Internet?
