We all have to recognize that there are eleven and a half "sequels" in the series. Every thing that came after Swallows and Amazons is a sequel. Some folks like some better and others less. But - they were all written by Mr. Ransome and hence have similar flavor. As has beem mentioned, any sequel that would currently be written would not be done by Mr. Ransome (for obvious reasons) and would have a completely different style, even though the characters are named the same and do similar things even though the author had done the total immersion that has been mentioned in this or the other thread.
