All is not lost. Yesterday's Daily Telegraph had a report that the Chairman of the Health and Safety Commission, no less, had spoken out against the Health and Safety 'culture', saying it was preventing people doing useful activities and diverting attention from the really useful things H&S do.
The H&S grew from the old Factory Inspectorate, who performed essential tasks like ensuring steel workers weren't caught up in the rolling mills.
