Thanks a lot Frank and Roger too! (how come so many people posting messages have Ransome names?) This will be a lot easier than I'd feared. I can't get over how little the places have changed if you can still walk and birdwatch so easily. By the way, what exactly is a fell? is it the mountain itself, or a slope that's part of the mountain? and are they called that cause you fall down them?
