Good idea, Jock. But if we concede that, I already sense a small cloud of confusion on the horizon. Would this hypothetical foray into modern fast food the S & A's might eat now stop there, or do we progress into modern appliances such as a quiet diesel generator? Why stop there? What about modern clothing? What would Commander Walker's telegram reply be today? Would the S & A's have found the island crowded with eager devotees of the Ransome canon or would it still retain its quiet tranquillity? Something of the confusion in the space/time continuum similar to the Back to the Future series might appear here. That way lies madness. But what a great topic to discuss in Peter Hyland's pub!
