I am reading at the moment (again) Picts and Martyrs; I could almost say it is my favourite. It is a deceptively simple plot, with Nancy and Peggy having to please the great Aunt and nearly exploding in the process; Dot being the little mother and housewife, Dick being the scientist; in a way, very few characters, great plot. And not to forget Timothy, who has now emerged as a likeable character rather than the villain they all thought he was in Pigeon Post. Rick Bridge
