The Most Recent Postings facility is certainly convenient - but it does lose the context of the discussion. More inconveniently, it appears to contribute to people initiating new threads when responding to or commenting on a post on an already existing thread. This is probably because the threads aren't obvious. Every few weeks one of us issues a recurring plea for people to avoid doing this. But if you always use the MRP entry to TarBoard you'd never really know you were doing this!
