I never guessed Timothy's ID as an eleven year old but I never ever guess whodunnits either. I don't think it matters if you read the books out of order at all. I read them as they became available in the library, starting with TPATM and then just grabbing what I could. So any references to previous events became a little vague over the three years of my first readings. Then when I'd eventually got them all for myself over a couple of birthdays and Christmases and grandparents' book tokens I got to read them all over again in order, joy and bliss, which gave me new perspectives. Reading AR continues to be a cyclic process for me; I go through bursts every few years and get fresh new insights and laughs as I age. It has become a kind of barometer of my own maturing. Although my partner wouldn't call it maturing.
