I am sure Mr Randome has missed the whole purpose of these "peripheral postings". Whilst they may not be directly concerned with the AR saga, they do provide some background as to what might have happened in the lives of his characters.
I find there are odd nuggets of information which add to the background that we paint in our minds. I hope at some time our gallant moderator will make all prior postings available from his dust covered shoe boxes – disk space is very cheap nowadays! – future generations will be able to access our ideas on what it was like in hose days. With each succeeding generation, future Tarboarders will be yet another remove from the 1930’s.

I must say that the link Jock posted recently to the Ambleside Oral History Records has fleshed out in my mind what life was like in those days. I hope it has made it to Dick’s Pocket Book.
AR said that he was short on ideas for further lakes novels. It is a pity he could not have access to these Oral History Records otherwise he might have found several possible plots.
Perhaps you might like to ask MrRandome’s opinion on prefacing the title of all peripheral postings PP. But I fear he might confuse it with some novel called Pigeon Post.
