Interesting, yes they have had them in europe for a long time.
Maybe someone there would comment on the merits of the system.
I have been thinking of installing one or as I am in Florida a solar system.
As to recycling and conservation during the war it was the Patriotic thing to do.
Maybe this aspect would get more people to do it now.
