But boys and girls ARE different, and are interested in different things. I see no problem with books for girls and books for boys. True, there may be some crossover, but not much. In my experience most boys don't care about girl's interests as much as girls are interested in boys' activities. I have yet to meet any boy interested in sleepovers, diaries, makeup, boys (well, most of them) and shopping. The masculine antipathy to shopping is well known. Oh, the hours I have spent hanging about while the women in my life finger things (usually clothing) that bore me to tears. Most men will surely agree that apart from hardware stores and computer shops, the less time spent in a store the better. This is why most department stores have the men's clothing section close to the main doors; the operators of these establishments know men like to pop in, ask a salesman for help, buy what he wants and then heads out.
