Sounds rather much like duffers to me, not to mention that if some disaster had happened, Mrs. Walker would have been subject to criminal negligence in allowing such a voyage to ever start.
Judging yesterday's happenings (true or imagined) against today's values is an iffy business. I can see pundits in the future burtsting blood vessels over the way we allow our kids and high speed motor cars to occupy the same physical space.
