I now have an answer, of sorts, to my original query. Searching, I came across a Synopsis on the Amazon.co.uk site as follows:
"...Now, fully revised to account for a further twenty years of research, and newly illustrated with many extra drawings and previously unpublished photographs, this book is not only an essential companion to the Ransome books but a magical transposition of story into reality which will enchant and bewitch Ransome's millions of readers of all ages."
So, it's revised and has more drawings and photos. Now "revised" doesn't necessarily mean new material so perhaps it would be best to await reviews after publication before rushing out to get a new one which could be quite similar to the original ??
