Whilst I agree with your overall sentiment David. I think there is a reasonable chance of Wells producing a good replica Wandsworth pint. The yeast has been taken to Bedford, together with the skill of the chief brewer - all they have to do is match the water.
At least Wells is a family brewery in the same style as Youngs so there is more hope than with some mergers / takeovers.
But the proof will be in the pint. We will wait and see.
