It is dangerous to try and alter the past.
I think of those vandals who digitally altered the picture of I.K.Brunel to remove his cigar in their ceaseless endeavour to stamp out all idea of smoking. AR may be next as a well known pipe smoker.
Goebbels would be proud of people who change the past.
To my mind it is much better to leave things as they were written and, if necessary, explain why we now think they may be wrong.
Some of PP, with the finding of the matchbox in the Gulch, may now be politically incorrect. Leave the past alone.
