But I don't disagree with what you - and others - say.

Except that at their age I wouldn't have found their commitment to crewing 'Flash' at all a burden. OK, on one occasion they were offered a tempting alternative in the form of a cruise in the 'Teasel', but at that age (or a little older) I lived for racing, and don't see anything odd in Port and Starboard doing the same.

Mr Farland might have had a problem a bit later when they wanted to helm, but that would be another story.
