Have a look at this one. It's the web cam of Lee on the Solent Sailing Club. On regatta days it's just full of dinghies, but also gets its share of cruise ships, dredgers, Navy vessels, anything and everything in fact.

It's a controllable camera (pan, tilt, zoom, all singing all dancing in fact) and needs Java. It can also be quite slow, as the pipe isn't exactly massive... When starting up, you need to be patient. But it has its moments. The zoom can go very far in.

It looks across the Solent from Lee to Cowes, on the Isle of Wight. You can see the Queen's palace at Osborne; look for the distinctive towers with flat tops peeping over the trees to the left of Cowes. On the right, the tall chimney at Fawley.

One unobvious trick is that if you click in the picture area, the camera moves to centre the click point- but it's not totally accurate. However, you soon learn to aim off...
