Even an initally frozen "ice" leaves a bit of melted "pink liquid" when you get to the end of the frozen bit. Unless the dish was *really* chilled, the ice in contact with the dish will melt.
I have never thought of the AR characters eating "liquid ice cream", as that calls to my mind the "ice" being served completely liquid, like a sort of sweet soup. I don't think any of the characters left ice cream long enough for it to become completely liquid (particularly Roger...)
