I opened a one inch to the mile Ordnance Survey map, belonging to my father
- and there it was!

The first OS map that I bought, aged 10, with my saved up pocket money was
a "Tourist Map" of the Lake District. This was a big disappointment. AR
had obviously fiddled about with the geography and I thought it jolly unfair

The second map that I bought (having carefully compared the endpapers map
in WD to the Encyclopedia Britanica atlas) was the OS of Walton-on-the-Naze
and as Andrew says, there it was!
