Well I'm not saying they should but if people want AR to be popular in the future that would be a way forward. I don't see anything henious in it myself. How would your/ my "authentic" view of Ransome based on reading the hardbacks as a child tempered by camp fires and steeped in lake water be diminished by a inferior cutesie cartoon?
The only argument I can see is that such a vesion might pick up on aspects present in the original and stretch them until we become too uncomfortably aware of them and they intrude into further readings of the canon. ( I think the "posh" accents of the film or the twee twins of SAFE have this effect on some. (Except that the video twins are so off the wall to be simply irritating)).
