Winter Holiday was set at the very end of the holidays, so Christmas was long gone. To me, if it had been called "Christmas Holiday", it would have implied a time around the late December period. But then, my experience is with the longest school holiday being over the Christmas period, with return to school occurring in the first week of February.
(Yes, Yes, I know ! We are all likely to fall off the world because we stand on our heads...)
